PUENTE
in Costa Rica |
|
The Twitchell and
King families have a combined fourteen years experience in
Central America working in the Latin culture.
Upon completing their partnership with Edwin Guerra in establishing a
Christian congregation in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, both families returned to
the United States in 2000. After a
time of furlough, they accepted the challenge to begin seeking and developing
ways to bridge the gap between North American churches and Hispanic
immigrants in their communities. The
efforts to meet that challenge are called “PUENTE”, which is Spanish for
“bridge”. Our mission is to bring
Hispanics and Anglos together by equipping Christians to bridge cultures for
Christ, so that congregations may become multi-cultural churches and
Hispanics may come to know Christ. |

During four years in the USA, they
saw firsthand the growing need for greater Hispanic leadership, both in the
United States and abroad. In 2004, the
Twitchells and Kings, along with Edwin &
Jessenia Guerra accepted the invitation
from Victor & Heydi
Hernandez to return to Central America. Based now in San José, Costa Rica, they are
working to see Latin leadership raised up, trained and sent out, not only to
other parts of Latin America, but to the world. Details of our strategy and current
projects can be seen our pages containing
Partnership,
Institute, and
Institute Vision .
